About the Whimmydiddle

Whimmydiddle Arts and Crafts Fair comes to Scott City Park on the last Saturday of every September. One of the largest craft shows in Western Kansas, this event features over 200 exhibitors from across the United States who arrive with original art, metal working, pottery and crafts in wood, fabric, jewelry, silk & dried flowers. The Whimmydiddle also offers a variety of tempting food concessions to entice visitors to indulge themselves.

When Randy Haggard starts an project, he’s never quite sure where it will end up. That’s half the fun. The other half is seeing how people react to his unique art. The Elk City, Okla., artist got plenty of feedback from those who ventured past his display during last year ’s Whimmydiddle arts and crafts show.

Have a Whimmydiddle tradition?

I always pick up my girlfriends early in the morning to make the trip to Scott City. Everyone is excited and wondering if their favorite vendor will be there this year. Our kids have placed their order of Cowboy Kettle Korn and lunch will be at Becky's Bierocks. The ride home consists of everyone making an inventory of all our teasures and finds.Ms. Kris Smith

Tell Us Your Tradition

Alpha Omega is a chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International chartered in 1949. Alpha Omega supports ESA's International project "St. Jude's Research Hospital"; the State of Kansas Project "Heartspring".

The Chapter gives scholarships annually to graduates of Scott County High School, reaches out to needy families, and supports any local needs that arise throughout the year. The Chapter is a close knit group and has a good time working together on their many projects, the largest of which is the Whimmydiddle.

A man's wedding band was found at the 2012 Whimmydiddle. Please call 620-872-3222 to claim.
